Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Remote | Eastern or Central Time Zone Preferred
Compensation: $100K–$150K
Urgent Hire – Target Start by End of Month
We’re excited to be working with a rapidly growing, startup-style construction company that operates in over multiple states and employs more than 1,000 people. They’re looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and make an immediate impact. This is a hands-on role that requires someone experienced in both payroll and benefits, especially within the construction industry.
What You’ll Do
- Manage weekly and biweekly multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now
- Oversee benefits administration (medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid leave)
- Lead open enrollment from planning to execution
- Act as the go-to expert on ADP and other HRIS systems, supporting and training team members
- Respond to employee questions and provide outstanding internal service
- Ensure payroll and benefits compliance, with a strong grasp of California HR regulations
- Help build and scale onboarding and process implementation
- Support internal audits, vendor management, and data reconciliations
- Maintain clear documentation and improve SOPs
What You Bring
- 7+ years of payroll and benefits experience across multiple states
- Construction industry experience is a must
- Strong understanding of California HR laws (but not seeking CA-based candidates)
- Advanced skills with ADP Workforce Now and other HRIS platforms
- Experience leading open enrollment and managing benefits vendors
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- CPP preferred; Bachelor’s in HR, Accounting, or related field
