A highly acclaimed, upscale modern American restaurant in Tampa is seeking a driven and polished Executive Sous Chef to join its award-winning culinary team. This full-scratch kitchen operation boasts $15M+ in annual sales and features live-fire cooking techniques.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor a large kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, seasonal updates, and daily specials.
- Drive consistency, quality, and innovation across all kitchen operations.
- Manage BOH operations, including inventory, COGS, labor scheduling, and vendor relations.
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
- Operate and manage using systems like Restaurant365, HotSchedules, Toast POS, and third-party delivery apps.
- Uphold the restaurant’s brand standards with polished professionalism.
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience in upscale, full-scratch kitchens.
- Strong understanding of live-fire cooking methods; basic sushi knowledge is a plus.
- Proficiency in COGS management, food and labor cost controls, and kitchen financials.
- Natural use of advanced culinary techniques and terminology.
- Leadership style that is hands-on, solution-oriented, and motivating to teams.
- Polished, professional demeanor; must represent the brand with excellence (Disney, high-end resort experience welcomed).
- Open to relocation candidates, but local Tampa or Orlando candidates strongly preferred.
- Candidates from mass casual chains (e.g., Darden) will not be considered.
