A mission-driven organization dedicated to strengthening communities and supporting nonprofit organizations is seeking a Community Engagement Assistant to join its team. This role supports initiatives that connect community partners, nonprofit organizations, and donors working together to drive meaningful impact.
The Community Engagement Assistant plays an important role in supporting community programs, grants administration, and outreach efforts. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about community engagement and nonprofit work. The ideal candidate is proactive, tech-savvy, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Community Engagement Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional support to nonprofit partners and community stakeholders by responding to inquiries, coordinating communications, and scheduling meetings.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of community events, workshops, and outreach initiatives, including logistics, communication, materials preparation, and event setup.
- Support the creation and editing of program materials, presentations, and web content.
- Maintain and update internal data systems used to track program activity and outcomes.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of grant agreements and related documentation.
- Coordinate vendor and nonprofit payment processes.
- Organize and maintain digital files and documentation across multiple systems.
- Conduct research and gather information to support community initiatives and programs.
- Assist with compiling reports and data for leadership, donors, and stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and operational support for community engagement programs and special projects.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required to support community or donor events.
Community Engagement Assistant Skills and Qualifications
- 1–3 years of professional experience in an administrative, nonprofit, public sector, or community-focused role preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common workplace technology tools
- Experience with project management systems, data platforms, or digital tools is a plus
- Demonstrated interest in community engagement, nonprofit initiatives, or public service
