Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale high-volume restaurant setting; Italian cuisine experience is strongly preferred
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a diverse kitchen team
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure
• Knowledge of kitchen cost control, inventory management, and ordering
• Ability to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency during peak service times
• Experience in training, mentoring, and supervising kitchen staff to foster a collaborative and positive work environment
• Commitment to compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
• Capability to step in and manage the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring smooth and efficient operations

Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills:

• Culinary degree or equivalent certification
• Experience with menu development and creativity in food preparation
• Familiarity with modern cooking techniques and trends
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Passion for Italian cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
