We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join a new, high-profile opening on Madison Avenue. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on delivering refined service, supporting daily operations, and leading a team in an elegant, guest-first environment.

Assistant Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hospitality or café experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team while delivering exceptional guest service
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Calm and solutions-oriented under pressure, especially during high-volume service
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for a premium brand environment
  • Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)

Must Haves

  • Lead service with a guest-first mindset, ensuring personalized, attentive experiences
  • Supervise and support front-of-house staff, providing real-time coaching and mentorship
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and cultivating a culture of accountability and pride
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and ambiance
  • Manage scheduling, shift coverage, and break allocation to ensure service flow
  • Support inventory control, vendor communications, and order placement
  • Handle cash management, reconciliations, and end-of-day reporting
  • Maintain strong product knowledge of menu items, training staff to do the same
  • Ensure service and environment align with brand standards and seasonal activations

Assistant Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in luxury hospitality, premium café, or fine dining environments
  • Knowledge of coffee programs, specialty drinks, and pastry operations
  • Previous involvement in new openings or concept launches
  • Strong skills in guest relations and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools, POS systems, and vendor management
