We are seeking a mission-driven Senior Loan Officer with a strong background in underwriting to support and grow small business lending efforts in historically underserved communities across Boston. In this high-impact role, you will take the lead in structuring and analyzing loans, building a high-quality pipeline, and supporting the lending team all while contributing to a broader mission of economic empowerment and community development.

This role is ideal for someone with deep credit analysis and risk assessment expertise, a proactive approach to pipeline generation, and a passion for helping local entrepreneurs thrive.

Senior Loan Officer Required Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of direct lending experience, with demonstrated skill in underwriting and credit analysis.
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with a track record of generating and converting quality leads.
  • Strong analytical abilities in reviewing financials, cash flows, and forecasts. Able to explain financial concepts in an accessible way.
  • Passionate about expanding access to capital for underserved communities.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with cultural competency to engage diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable leading a team, coaching others, and contributing to shared goals.
  • Independent, organized, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proficient with loan origination systems, CRM tools, and modern digital platforms.

Senior Loan Officer Required Qualifications

  • Required experience in community development finance institutions or working with CDFIs.
  • Proven track record of proactively generating and converting quality loan pipeline through business development activities
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on underwriting experience with demonstrated expertise in credit analysis, risk assessment, and loan structuring
  • Familiarity with Boston’s small business ecosystem.
  • Fluency in languages such as Haitian Kreyol, Cape Verdean Kriol, Spanish, Patois, or other community dialects is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of digital outreach and social media tools is a plus.
