Sous Chef – Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a line cook in a fine or casual-fine dining restaurant
- Strong knife skills and in-depth food safety & sanitation knowledge
- Ability to remain composed in a high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Sous Chef – Must Haves:
- Lead the flow of service during peak hours to ensure seamless execution
- Mentor, train, and support line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen staff
- Execute daily prep and service for all menu items from start to finish, including butchery and family meal
- Participate in ideation, testing, and rollout of new menu items
- Uphold cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, equipment, refrigeration, and prep areas
- Receive and properly store deliveries with attention to FIFO and quality control
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture
Sous Chef – Preferred Background & Skills:
- Previous experience in a leadership role (Sous Chef, CDC, or similar)
- Experience with cost control, inventory, and ordering
- Knowledge of modern cooking techniques and seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine
- Proven ability to coach and develop culinary talent
- Strong sense of urgency, precision, and pride in plating
- Eagerness to learn and grow with a like-minded, passionate team
- Solution-oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement
