General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Manager in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
  • Proven ability to oversee $15M+ in annual revenue
  • Strong P&L and financial management experience
  • Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing FOH teams
  • Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of building positive workplace culture and high retention
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

General Manager Must Haves

  • Experience leading opening operations of a new restaurant
  • Ability to oversee and develop FOH systems including scheduling, payroll, and onboarding
  • Hands-on presence during service, table touching, and guest engagement
  • Oversight of daily pre-shift meetings and team development
  • Vendor management, inventory, and cost control ownership
  • Collaboration with BOH leadership to maintain high culinary and service standards
  • Work cross-functionally with admin, HR, marketing, IT, and purchasing teams

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience managing multiple service styles, including private events, patio dining, and full bar service
  • Prior exposure to administrative tasks related to FF&E, OS&E, and compliance
  • Familiarity with advanced POS and scheduling systems
  • Proven marketing and promotions experience to drive sales
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to guest ambiance
