Restaurant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

3–5 years of general manager experience in upscale dining
Deep knowledge of upscale dining standards, wine service, craft cocktails, private events, and premium beverages
Hospitality-focused attitude with enthusiasm for guest experience
Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, and team development skills

Restaurant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of daily operations for an upscale restaurant and banquet facility
Lead, train, and inspire the restaurant and banquet teams to deliver outstanding service
Manage financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to drive business growth
Foster excellent staff relations, ensuring high engagement and efficiency
Take full responsibility for team development and succession planning
