Director of Accounting Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Significant tax experience required (corporate, partnership, and multi-entity).
- Industry experience in hospitality/food & beverage and real estate required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Director of Accounting Preferred Background & Skills
- Key technology expertise preferred: Restaurant365 (R365) and Yardi.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
Director of Accounting Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting to align financial strategies with business goals.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, producing financial statements and management reports.
- Collaborate with department leaders to track the company’s performance through KPIs.
- Direct all tax planning, compliance, and reporting, ensuring timely filings and optimized strategies.
- Oversee cash flow and treasury operations, optimizing liquidity and resource use.
- Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
