Attorney – Social Services Department Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in New York State
- Experience in family law or social services law preferred
- Strong litigation, research, and negotiation skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Residency in Chenango County not required (can reside in surrounding counties)
Attorney – Social Services Department Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to the Department of Social Services
- Represent the County in Family Court proceedings and administrative hearings
- Interpret and apply New York State Social Services Law
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and case-related materials
- Work collaboratively with caseworkers, supervisors, and county officialsAttorney – Social Services Department
