Executive Sous Chef – High-Volume Coastal Restaurant – South Coast, MA

Executive Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume ($5M+ annual sales) upscale casual or fine dining kitchen
  • Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on creativity, quality, and consistency
  • Experience supervising and developing kitchen teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen operations

Must Haves:

  • Experience managing back-of-house operations in a high-volume, upscale kitchen
  • Oversee and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks and Kitchen Managers, fostering a positive and efficient work culture
  • Maintain consistent execution of dishes that align with the restaurant’s chef-driven menu and brand standards
  • Assist in menu development, food costing, inventory control, and vendor ordering
  • Act as Head Chef when needed, ensuring seamless kitchen leadership and smooth daily operations
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety compliance at all times

Executive Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience working with innovative, seasonal, and sushi-inspired menus
  • Familiarity with operating in a waterfront or seasonal restaurant environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to inspire and lead diverse kitchen teams
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, delivering excellence during peak service
