South Shore Restaurant is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. If you thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and are committed to excellence, we want you on our team!
Restaurant Sous Chef Compensation and Benefits:

Restaurant Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Work the line as needed, especially during peak business hours.
- Contribute to menu planning, development, and daily specials creation.
- Oversee inventory management, minimizing waste and ensuring cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Monitor food quality, consistency, and safety throughout service.
- Support in ordering, inventory tracking, and cost control measures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Train and mentor new kitchen staff; foster ongoing development.
- Lead and supervise line cooks and prep staff during shifts.
- Assist with scheduling, invoice entry, and costing.
Restaurant Sous Chef Skills & Qualifications:
- Passion for food, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
- Proven experience in high-volume kitchen environments.
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in cooking and banquet preparation.
- Demonstrated background in kitchen management and supervisory roles.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while upholding high standards.
- Excellent inventory management and cost control abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High attention to detail and consistency.
- Spanish communication skills are a plus.
