Sr Roadway Estimator

Sr Roadway Estimator Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in roadway, highway, and civil projects.
Proficiency in Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Job, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to read and write accurately for documentation.
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Sr Roadway Estimator Preferred Background & Skills

Past field experience is helpful.
Experience with electronic bid submissions and understanding local bid requirements.
Knowledge of DBE/SBE regulations and requirements.

Sr Roadway Estimator Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Research prospective project opportunities and develop bid strategies.
Perform scope analysis, including quantity takeoffs and technical review of plans and specifications.
Solicit and negotiate with material suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare and submit electronic and paper bids, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
Analyze bid results and assist with subcontractor and material supplier selection.
Set up project budgets and write subcontracts and major purchase orders in Viewpoint.
