Join one of Tampa’s most recognized culinary teams. We are hiring a Sous Chef for our café/event-based outlet located near the city’s sports and entertainment district. This location operates at a moderate pace most days, with high-volume surges on game days, concerts, and catering events.

You’ll take full ownership of back-of-house operations on your shifts — balancing smart labor management during slower periods with precise execution on event days. Ideal for hotel outlet chefs or event-savvy Sous Chefs looking for career growth in a high-integrity kitchen culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead BOH operations during both slow periods and peak event service
  • Manage labor and staffing levels based on forecasted volume
  • Oversee prep and kitchen readiness for catered events and service rushes
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Assign stations, coach cooks, and lead expo during service
  • Assist the Executive Chef with prep schedules, ordering, and inventory
  • Ensure team morale, accountability, and pride in the kitchen
  • Maintain equipment care and kitchen organization

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as Sous Chef or Lead Cook in high-volume kitchens
  • Hotel outlet, event-based, or catering kitchen experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage kitchen labor and prep flow independently
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Professional presence and guest-first mindset
