The firm has recovered over $1 billion for clients nationwide and is known for its success in complex property damage and personal injury litigation.
About the Role
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney passionate about protecting homeowners’ rights against insurance carriers. You’ll manage a diverse caseload involving first-party property insurance claims — including disputes related to hail, wind, fire, water, and other perils — from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will bring both strong litigation skills and a client-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from start to finish.
- Conduct detailed legal research and case analysis.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations or arbitrations.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings.
- Communicate consistently with clients, providing clear updates and strategy explanations.
- Collaborate with paralegals, assistants, and fellow attorneys to ensure top-quality representation.
- Stay informed of evolving Colorado insurance law and property damage trends.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the Texas Bar, in good standing.
- 2+ years of litigation experience; first-party property experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and client advocacy skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) with firm match.
- Paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, and bereavement time.
- Employer-covered and voluntary supplemental insurance options.
