Legal Assistant

Location: Ramsey, NJOnsite, Monday through Friday

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy, client-focused law practice. This position requires prior experience working within a law firm or legal environment — someone familiar with legal documents, client communications, and the pace of supporting attorneys and their clients.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and takes pride in accuracy and confidentiality. This role is perfect for a motivated professional with 1–3 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience who enjoys handling a variety of responsibilities in a boutique, fast-moving setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, proofread, and prepare legal correspondence, agreements, and client documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage attorney calendars, client meetings, and deadlines; ensure all filings and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Maintain and organize client files and case documents (electronic and physical) in accordance with firm standards.
  • Coordinate document execution, e-filings, notarizations, and client follow-ups.
  • Communicate directly with clients, courts, and external partners in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Support billing and time entry processes; assist with client invoicing and A/R tracking as needed.
  • Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Provide general support to attorneys to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional client service.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience working in a law firm or legal department
  • Strong calendar management and scheduling experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail with clients is a plus!
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint);
    • experience with document management systems is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Professional appearance, polished demeanor, and strong client-service orientation.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salaried position – $50K – $65K (DEO)
