Culinary Operations Director

Join a respected restaurant group as a Culinary Operations Director, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the back-of-house operations of a high-volume, scratch-based kitchen. Culinary Operations Director Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years in high-volume scratch kitchens, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience building and scaling operational systems in multi-unit, corporate, or high-volume kitchens.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • Deep knowledge of food safety, sanitation, compliance, and labor standards.
  • Experience managing diverse teams, including bilingual staff (Spanish-speaking preferred).
  • Ability to implement change, drive accountability, and improve operational efficienc
  • Design and implement operational systems for inventory management, ordering, waste tracking, quality audits, and SOP documentation.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes to maximize efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Supervise Kitchen Leads, Sous Chef, Culinary Development Lead, line cooks, and prep cooks while training and mentoring staff on best practices.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to established systems and collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu rollouts.
  • Analyze performance metrics, food costs, labor, and waste to inform operational decisions.
  • Report on operational KPIs, audits, and process improvements while serving as a bridge between BOH operations and FOH coordination.
