Machinist

Machinist Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC setup and programming experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to hold tight tolerances.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Understanding of GD&T and G-code programming.

Machinist Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with Mazatrol or similar conversational programming is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well with both subordinates and leaders.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency.

Machinist Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Set up machines to produce conforming parts according to existing programs.
  • Submit first articles to Quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Communicate and document non-conformances and perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including daily cleaning of floors and machinery.
  • Perform operator preventive maintenance on machinery, including lubrication and maintaining oil and coolant levels.
  • Conduct necessary quality checks of parts using calipers, micrometers, and functional gauges.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and members to meet production goals efficiently.
