Mechanical Engineer Requirements & Qualifications:

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation)
  • Experience with SolidWorks macros or programming to automate design tasks
  • Strong understanding of machine design principles, mechanical systems, and industrial automation equipment
  • Ability to apply and adhere to engineering standards and safety requirements
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across departments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • U.S. citizenship required

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Participate in new project planning with sales and controls engineering teams
  • Create detailed 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks for custom machines and systems
  • Design new machine concepts or adapt existing designs to meet customer needs
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for preferred components and mechanisms
  • Support assembly, manufacturing, and controls teams during machine build
  • Assist in troubleshooting during assembly and customer runoff
  • Provide post-installation support and solutions for design-related issues
  • Collaborate with other engineers to streamline mechanical workflows and improve automation design efficiency
  • Occasionally travel to review existing customer processes or installations (minimal travel)

Mechanical Engineer Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience with automation equipment, robotics, or motion control systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs, servos, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, and assembly
  • Exposure to project management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to write or maintain SolidWorks macros, or other engineering automation scripts
  • Creative, detail-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
