About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Senior Tax Assistant to support our tax operations and ensure an excellent client experience throughout the filing process. This role oversees front desk operations and Tax Assistant staff while assisting with data entry, e-filing, and ensuring accurate and timely completion of client returns.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain tax processes that deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Supervise and train the Front Desk and Tax Assistant I team members.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate client records.
• Assist in gathering missing tax information and ensuring all documentation is complete.
• Set up annual tax software (Drake), including preparer PTINs and ERO information.
• Oversee the electronic filing of completed tax returns.
• Maintain and manage the office mail log.
• Support and understand all partners’ business processes and workflows.
• Apply strong math skills to verify calculations and ensure accuracy in all filings.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance knowledge of tax preparation and tax forms. (Training provided.)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a tax office or related administrative/accounting role preferred, but not required.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of tax preparation and forms (or willingness to learn).
• Leadership or supervisory experience a plus.
