Our client, a respected leader in the retail and home furnishings industry, is seeking a Upholstery Buyer to join their growing team. This individual will play a key role in driving product strategy, sourcing in-demand merchandise, and ensuring a competitive and profitable product assortment across retail showrooms and online platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for merchandising, a strong sense of design and trend awareness, and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration across marketing, operations, ecommerce, and vendor partnerships.

Buyer Requirements/Responsibilities

  • Lead product purchasing strategy and manage assigned merchandise categories
  • Analyze product performance, sales metrics, and market trends to guide buying decisions
  • Negotiate vendor agreements, pricing, and promotional programs
  • Collaborate with marketing, visual merchandising, and ecommerce teams to execute cohesive product strategies
  • Manage pricing, inventory, and product life cycle to meet margin and profitability goals
  • Attend trade shows and market events; travel up to 75% required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail buying or merchandising (home furnishings a plus)
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/Merchandising systems
