An established and growing agricultural organization is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead HR strategy and operations in Yerington, Nevada. This role will oversee compliance, workforce safety, and seasonal workforce management, ensuring alignment with both company goals and regulatory standards.

Director of Human Resources – Benefits and Compensation

  • Base salary range: $140,000 – $160,000

Director of Human Resources – Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8+ years of progressive HR leadership, including Director or Senior HR Manager experience
  • Strong knowledge of Nevada and California labor and employment laws
  • Proven experience overseeing large-scale safety and risk management programs
  • Demonstrated success managing the H-2A visa program or other large seasonal/temporary workforce programs
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and employee relations skills
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

Must Haves

  • Lead HR department functions, including compliance, talent management, and employee relations for a workforce of several thousand employees
  • Oversee occupational safety programs, OSHA compliance, and risk management, ensuring safe practices across farming, packing, and operations sites
  • Direct all aspects of the H-2A visa program, including compliance, planning, recruiting, and workforce integration
  • Manage labor and employment law compliance across Nevada and California operations, with emphasis on wage/hour, OSHA, and seasonal workforce issues
  • Develop and implement HR policies, compensation structures, and performance management systems
  • Act as primary advisor to senior leadership and field operations on HR, compliance, and safety matters
  • Manage and develop a team of HR and safety professionals, fostering a high-performance culture

Director of Human Resources – Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in agriculture, food production, or other high-volume seasonal workforce industries
  • Background in union negotiations and/or collective bargaining agreements
  • Prior leadership overseeing both HR and safety/risk functions
  • Strong background in organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy
  • Legal training or prior work in employment law
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly valued
