We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong project management capabilities to lead the design and execution of custom conveyor systems. This role blends hands-on engineering with cross-functional leadership to deliver turnkey solutions for food processing and packaging environments.

In this role, you'll collaborate across sales and engineering teams to develop solutions that meet client needs with precision and care. From concept development to execution, you’ll drive projects forward while fostering long-term customer relationships.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conveyor systems and mechanical components using CAD tools (SolidWorks).
  • Plan, delegate, and schedule work to be performed, which includes monitoring and communicating with those performing work delegated, or happening in other areas, to assure timelines are met. (EX: material acquisition, outsourced drafting, MRP system loading, and production planning) 
  • Provide technical support, field application support, training, and technical data to all other areas of the company as needed to meet or exceed our customer expectations.
  • Formulate creative and efficient design solutions, maintaining structural integrity of the product while optimizing customer desires, feature requirements, cost, and manufacturing throughput goals. 
  • Create detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
  • Manage full project lifecycle: scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
  • Communicate positively with managers, peers, and customers, both internal and external. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Mechanical Designer Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in mechanical design or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of mechanical design/project management experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • SolidWorks: required
  • Must have SolidWorks experience and experience designing conveyors/material handling equipment in the Food & Beverage Industry.
