Construction Purchasing Agent

We’re looking for a Purchasing Agent to support our construction operations and vendor network. Reporting to the Purchasing & Estimating Manager, this role will evaluate and onboard new vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure budgets and scopes are aligned for residential development projects.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in creating budgets for vertical construction.
• Estimate and analyze project costs with insights into assigned regions.
• Build and strengthen subcontractor relationships while expanding the vendor base.
• Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor bids and purchase orders.
• Conduct basic construction takeoffs and ensure scopes match project requirements.
• Manage contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and track vendor performance.
• Support communication between subcontractors and field teams.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in residential construction management or purchasing.
• Skilled in cost and price negotiations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects under deadlines.
• Proficiency with computers and construction takeoffs.
• MUST HAVE BLUEPRINT EXPERIENCE!!!!

Additional Details

This role is based in Independence, OH with 15%–25% travel to job sites. Work is split between office and construction environments.
