We are seeking an Asset Manager to safeguard the financial and physical health of a 1,200-unit portfolio of affordable housing and commercial real estate. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, this role is critical to ensuring long-term financial stability, operational efficiency, and sustainability across the portfolio.
Asset Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an annual asset management plan to maintain financial and operational goals.
- Review monthly financials, property conditions, and compliance reports to identify risks and opportunities.
- Oversee capital improvement projects, energy initiatives, and sustainability efforts.
- Manage commercial leasing and evaluate property management contracts.
- Lead monthly performance reviews with management companies and collaborate with internal teams on cash flow, refinancing, and compliance.
- Prepare portfolio performance reports for senior leadership.
- Mentor and support staff development, ensuring accountability and growth.
Asset Manager Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in asset management, property management, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of real estate finance, LIHTC, and affordable housing programs.
- Excellent financial analysis, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret legal agreements and financial projections.
- Commitment to racial equity, inclusion, and community development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and database tools.
- Preferred: Experience with both residential and commercial properties.
- Preferred: CHAM certification, or a Master’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field.
- Preferred: Conversational Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole.
