We are seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Manager with deep experience in retail environments to lead a growing AP department. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in high-volume, multi-entity operations and have a proven track record of optimizing AP processes, mentoring staff, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Accounts Payable team, including supervisors, leads, specialists, and clerks across multiple entities.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all AP activities through internal controls and performance reporting.
- Drive automation and process improvements to scale operations and reduce costs.
- Implement workflow procedures and cross-train staff to maintain best practices.
- Set performance metrics and manage staff evaluations.
- Coordinate with operations and vendors to resolve issues and maintain strong working relationships.
- Oversee vendor statement reconciliations and prepare reporting for management and audits.
- Maintain up-to-date records for licenses, permits, property taxes, leases, and utilities.
- Manage outside AP service providers and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 8+ years of Accounts Payable experience in medium-to-large environments (1,500+ employees).
- 5+ years as an AP Manager or Supervisor, leading at least 6 team members.
- Experience in centralized AP operations, preferably at the corporate level.
- Multi-entity AP management (5+ entities required).
- Strong ERP experience and familiarity with high-volume transactional environments.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while delivering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
