Our client is a leader in the electrical power distribution space. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Designer to take the lead in coordinating and publishing drawings of switchboards and the associated manufacturing processes.
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare 3D models using CAD software
- Create 2D AutoCAD drawings for manufacturing/fabrication
- Design sheet metal parts, assemblies and mechanical components
- Collaborate with production to resolve manufacturing or design issues
- Maintain engineering documentation including drawing packages, BOMs, and revisions.
Mechanical Designer Qualifications:
- Associates degree in related field
- 2+ years of experience with hands on CAD design in manufacturing
- experience with sheet metal design work
- Experience with mechanical enclosures or electrical panel design preferred
- Strong proficiency in using 3D CAD and Auto CAD modeling software
- Strong proficiency with reading drawings and mechanical specs
