We’re looking for a Director of Nursing (DON) for a well-known senior living community near Stamford, CT, offering a high-quality, resident-first experience. Someone who can bring an excellent level of care, leadership, and vision to the clinical team. With 145 beds across Assisted Living and Memory Care, this is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where your impact will be felt daily by residents, staff, and families alike.

Director of Nursing Requirements & Qualifications

  • Active RN license in CT
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • 3–5+ years of nursing leadership in senior living, LTC, or memory care
  • Deep knowledge of geriatric care and regulatory compliance (CMS, DOH, OSHA)
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain nursing staff
  • Strong communication and clinical documentation skills

Must Haves

What this role actually looks like day-to-day:

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of nurses and caregivers to deliver top-quality care
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with physicians, therapists, and department heads
  • Oversee assessments, care plans, and health evaluations to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinate infection control and quality assurance programs
  • Manage clinical policies, budgets, schedules, and compliance across the department
  • Be present, proactive, and responsive to resident needs and team challenges

Director of Nursing Preferred Background & Skills

  • Prior DON or ADON experience in an assisted living or memory care setting
  • Passion for wellness education and holistic senior care
  • Experience with clinical protocol development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Leadership style rooted in empathy, accountability, and team empowerment
