Our client is a private equity-owned manufacturer of engineered to order equipment primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to oversee a team involved in financial reporting, general ledger management, internal controls and compliance, financial analysis & budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance and process improvement initiatives. Reporting to the company's Controller, this person is expected to provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP including consolidation with subsidiary companies
- Supervise general ledger and approve account reconciliations
- Manage a team of accountants
- Implement effective internal controls to ensure accurate financial and tax reporting
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, manage actual results and explain variances
- Ensure financial reporting is in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Lead initiatives to improve processes, systems and overall efficiencies
- Opportunity to build out the accounting team over time
Accounting Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA or CMA a plus
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience in a manufacturing company
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations and financial reporting practices
- 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Advanced proficiency with Excel
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Must be a Critical thinker in terms of business strategy and proven ability to provide actionable insights
- Experience building out budgets, reporting packages and models (within a PE owned firm a plus)
