Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff Accountant Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree (Accounting preferred)

·        5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a law firm environment

·        Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

·        Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills

·        Proven ability to solve problems, analyze data, document findings, and resolve issues efficiently

·        Comfortable working independently and within teams in a fast-paced, high-volume setting

·        Skilled at juggling multiple priorities with attention to accuracy and timeliness

·        Trusted to handle sensitive financial data with discretion and integrity

·        Clear and confident communicator, capable of collaborating with attorneys, staff, and vendors

Senior Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

·        Conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations and closing activities

·        Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including client costs, petty cash, and credit card accounts

·        Process accounts payable for both client and firm-related expenses

·        Serve as a point of contact for vendor and staff invoice inquiries

·        Oversee 1099 reporting and ensure timely, accurate annual e-filing

·        Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor records

·        Support preparation and distribution of client settlement payments

·        Respond to tax notices and provide appropriate documentation

·        Assist with quarterly and year-end accounting procedures
