We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Building Official to support operations in Hallandale Beach, FL, with a client-first focus and a commitment to excellence.

Assistant Building Official Requirements & Qualifications:
• Valid FL Building Code Administrator License
• FL Standard Plan Review License in Building and FL Standard Inspector License in Building
• FL Certified General Contractor License and Broward County Board of Rules & Appeals Approval
• 5+ years of experience applying building codes and supervising staff within a municipal or third-party building department
• Responsible for plan reviews (residential and commercial), inspection support, and managing compliance with state and local codes
• Liaise with clients and community stakeholders, attend public meetings, and ensure top-tier customer service delivery
• Manage and supervise building department personnel and daily operations
Assistant Building Official Preferred Background & Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to lead with integrity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with permitting and inspection software systems
