A leading continuous process manufacturing facility located south of Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Chemical Production Manager to lead a high-performing production team in a fast-paced, industrial environment. This is a key leadership role, directly supervising Shift Supervisors and a Documentation Engineer/Technical Writer, and reporting to the Plant Manager.

Chemical Production Manager Perks:

Chemical Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Leads and develops production team members with clear expectations, coaching, and accountability
  • Owns and optimizes the production process for safe, consistent, and efficient operation
  • Instills a data-driven, continuous improvement culture throughout the department
  • Leverages systems and KPIs to drive behavioral and process improvements
  • Oversees operator training, qualification processes, and SOP adherence
  • Drives a proactive, root cause-oriented approach to problem solving (RCFA expertise required)
  • Supports efficient and well-resourced plant shutdowns and ensures qualified contractors are in place
  • Leads change initiatives through the Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Manages the production budget and communicates deviations to the Plant Manager
  • Regularly reports departmental performance and drives results accountability
  • Participates in hiring, performance reviews, and employee development processes

Chemical Production Manager Requirements:

  • BSE degree, required; Chemical Engineering degree strongly preferred
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in a continuous process, 24/7 industrial manufacturing setting
  • Prior ethanol industry experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise with processing equipment such as evaporators, heat exchangers, centrifuges, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, pumps, valves, electrical circuits, and instrumentation
  • Proven leadership in operations management, budget oversight, and reliability-focused practices
  • Strong analytical, communication, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including stairs, ladders, confined spaces, and around chemicals
  • Ability to respond to and support emergency issues on a 24/7 basis and work outside of normally scheduled hours as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
