Civil Structural Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive reports, detailed designs, and construction drawings.
  • Perform load, stress, and stability calculations for new and existing structures.
  • Identify and specify appropriate construction materials for each project.
  • Offer technical guidance and problem-solving support to project teams.
  • Secure approvals for planning applications and building-code compliance.
  • Coordinate closely with architects and other design professionals throughout each project phase.

Civil Structural Engineer Requirements

  • Active PE license (Tennessee).
  • 5–10 years of relevant structural-engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Strong command of structural design principles, building codes, and analysis software; proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.
  • 5–10 years performing structural calculations and steel-structure design.
  • Advanced AutoCAD and Revit skills highly preferred.
  • Proven collaborator who proactively spots improvement areas and offers solutions.
