Civil Structural Engineer Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive reports, detailed designs, and construction drawings.
- Perform load, stress, and stability calculations for new and existing structures.
- Identify and specify appropriate construction materials for each project.
- Offer technical guidance and problem-solving support to project teams.
- Secure approvals for planning applications and building-code compliance.
- Coordinate closely with architects and other design professionals throughout each project phase.
Civil Structural Engineer Requirements
- Active PE license (Tennessee).
- 5–10 years of relevant structural-engineering experience.
- Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Strong command of structural design principles, building codes, and analysis software; proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.
- 5–10 years performing structural calculations and steel-structure design.
- Advanced AutoCAD and Revit skills highly preferred.
- Proven collaborator who proactively spots improvement areas and offers solutions.
