Overview:
A growing environmental consultancy is seeking a senior-level Practice Leader to build and lead its groundwater and remediation design practice. This is a strategic hire focused on sustainable water solutions, including the design of pumping systems and environmental remediation strategies. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, client relationships, and a vision for growing a high-impact practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the groundwater/remediation practice, with a focus on designing pumping and treatment systems
- Serve as the technical lead and subject-matter expert on complex groundwater and environmental remediation projects
- Work closely with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities
- Mentor and collaborate with current staff to shape and scale the practice over the first 3–4 months
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning and innovation in sustainability and water system design
- Participate in firm leadership with the opportunity to buy into ownership
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading remediation or groundwater-focused design practices
- Strong technical background in sustainable water management, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering
- Ability to drive client engagement and grow a book of business
- Experience designing pumping systems and working on complex environmental remediation projects
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in long-term equity/ownership
- Based in New York City
Compensation & Benefits:
- $200,000 base salary
- Annual performance-based bonus
