A global, stable, growing, plastic packaging supplier is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the team to troubleshoot and repair central plant equipment and facility systems. with a focus on electrical components. This requires reading technical manuals, interpreting blueprints, and working with control systems. Includes fabrication, equipment rebuilding, and new installations.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Work: Read schematics, troubleshoot breakdowns, run circuits, install machinery, and ensure electrical safety compliance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Repair compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, grinders, cranes, resin feed systems, and forklifts.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Equipment Rebuilding: Replace seals, bearings, shafts, motors, and other components.
- Control Systems: Troubleshoot and replace control system components (switches, sensors, pushbuttons, motor starters).
- Fabrication: Modify equipment using welders, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and torches.
- CMMS Usage: Create work orders and manage parts inventory.
- New Installations: Install new equipment and complete assigned projects.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct equipment checks and scheduled maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe workspace and use PPE.
- Teamwork & Training: Report hazards, collaborate with team members, and mentor junior staff.
- On-Call Support: Participate in a rotating schedule for emergency repairs.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years as an industrial electrician.
- Education: Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Control Systems: Familiarity with PLCs and AC/DC motor drive controls.
- Blueprints & Schematics: Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.
- Fabrication: Welding and cutting torch experience.
- Machinery Operation: Proficiency with lathe, drill press, and grinder.
- Electrical Safety: Understanding of electrical safety standards.
