Position Details:

  • Full-time, 12-month role
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Special Education Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Develop lesson plans and set academic/behavioral goals
  • Adapt instruction using assessment data to foster social skills
  • Guide support staff within the classroom
  • Collaborate with families, providers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide 1:1 support to students

Special Education Lead Teacher Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; Master’s degree preferred
  • New York State Certified Special Education Teacher or eligibility for NYC certification transfer
  • 2-5 years of experience as a lead special education teacher
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Genuine passion for working with children
