The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of store performance, including sales growth, financial management, team development, merchandising, customer experience, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily store operations and ensure exceptional customer service
  • Manage department managers and hourly team members across all store functions
  • Drive sales, profitability, labor management, and expense control
  • Maintain accountability for P&L performance and key operational metrics
  • Develop and execute merchandising, inventory, and promotional strategies
  • Manage staffing, recruiting, training, coaching, and succession planning
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards
  • Monitor inventory levels, shrink, and product quality
  • Build relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and customers
  • Create a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and service
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of grocery, food retail, or high-volume retail management experience
  • Previous General Manager, Store Manager, Store Director, or multi-department leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of grocery operations, merchandising, labor management, and inventory control
  • Proven experience managing P&L performance and operational budgets
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for serving the community and creating a positive customer experience
  • Experience with Produce, Meat, Deli, Bakery, or Fresh Departments preferred
