Executive Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Head Chef in a high-volume environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to give constructive feedback using compassion and emotional intelligence
- Proven ability to uphold high standards for food quality, health, and kitchen safety
- Strong understanding of kitchen financials, including GP, labor management, inventory, and stock control
- Inspirational leader committed to achieving team success
Executive Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills
- Passion for building an inclusive team where individuals feel celebrated and valued
- Solutions-oriented with the ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure
Executive Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead by example, cultivating a positive and inclusive kitchen culture
- Mentor and develop culinary team members at all levels
- Ensure every dish meets exceptional culinary standards, empowering the team with skills and confidence
- Uphold impeccable food safety, sanitation, and health protocols
- Oversee kitchen financials including COGS, labor, waste reduction, and inventory management
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on recruitment, training, and building a strong, accountable kitchen team
