Entertainment Production Sales Director Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8–12+ years of sales leadership in entertainment, live events, broadcast, film/TV, or technical production
  • Proven track record closing high-value production contracts
  • Experience building, leading, and mentoring high-performing sales teams
  • In-depth understanding of production budgets, cost structure, and profitability drivers
  • Advanced negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills
  • Proficiency with CRM and sales forecasting tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Entertainment Management, Communications, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed for client and production engagements

Entertainment Production Sales Director Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Existing network of entertainment industry clients, agencies, and production partners
  • Experience securing national touring contracts, festival residencies, or production packages
  • Familiarity with union crew staffing and large-scale live event logistics
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices across touring, AV, and production sales

Entertainment Production Sales Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute multi-division sales strategies to meet annual revenue targets
  • Lead, coach, and expand a high-performing sales team—setting quotas and monitoring performance
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with artists, promoters, studios, venues, and agencies
  • Negotiate and secure contracts for live music tours, film/TV production, AV/technical services, and special events
  • Drive business for the new production studio and support growth across service lines
  • Manage budgets, oversee operational efficiency, and optimize profit margins in production sales
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities and strategic partnerships
