Executive Chef – Nantucket, MA
A well-established, community-focused restaurant on Nantucket seeks an enthusiastic Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations year-round. Located near one of the island’s renowned beaches in a historic setting, this 100-seat restaurant and bar offers the rare chance to shape both menu and team culture. Chef de Cuisine Benefits & Compensation
- Generous compensation 100-150k plus
- Private on-island housing available at $1,000/month (well below the market rate)
- 40–50% reimbursement of your health insurance premiums

Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–4 years tenure in each prior culinary leadership role
- Experience in fine dining or inventive from-scratch kitchens
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and retain back-of-house teams
- Strong grasp of food and labor cost controls, purchasing, and budget management
- Commitment to a substance-free, professional working environment

Executive Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring excellence in both service and events
- Design and execute an appealing menu using local, seasonal ingredients
- Lead hiring, training, and mentorship for a skilled back-of-house team
- Collaborate with ownership and front-of-house leadership on specials and programming
- Uphold rigorous systems for prep, cleanliness, consistency, and food safety
- Monitor and control food and labor costs while maintaining top-tier quality
