Sous Chef – New Upscale Restaurant Opening | Philadelphia

A highly anticipated, high-volume upscale restaurant is opening in Philadelphia, and we are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a flagship launch and help build the kitchen culture, standards, and systems from the ground up. We’re looking for a strong, hands-on culinary leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about quality and team development.

Position Overview

The Sous Chef will partner with the Executive Chef to oversee all back-of-house operations, ensuring consistency, execution, food safety, and team performance. This role plays a key part in daily kitchen leadership and long-term operational success.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations and line execution
Lead, train, and develop culinary team members
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation
Assist with inventory management, ordering, scheduling, and food cost control
Support hiring and onboarding for the opening team
Foster a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture

Qualifications

2+ years of Sous Chef experience
Proven leadership experience in fast-paced environments
Strong culinary technique and attention to detail
Opening experience preferred
Ability to manage labor and food cost controls
Professional, hands-on leadership style

Compensation & Benefits
