Job Title: Contract Process Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Irvine, CA (On-site)

Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 (Contract)

Type: Full-Time Contract | Start ASAP

A specialized manufacturer of safety cutters and precision blades is seeking a hands-on Process Engineering Manager to evaluate, optimize, and modernize manufacturing processes across press stamping, heat treating, and blade grinding operations.

This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who can challenge existing workflows, implement data-driven improvements, and gain cross-functional buy-in to drive measurable performance gains in a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead process engineering across blade grinding and cutter manufacturing
Improve workflows, reduce waste, and improve cycle times and quality
Implement SOPs and best practices across operations
Troubleshoot production and equipment issues with cross-functional teams
Mentor operators, engineers, and production staff
Promote safety and regulatory adherence

Required

3–5 years of leadership in Process/Manufacturing Engineering
Strong background in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering
Experience optimizing high-precision manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and team alignment skills

Preferred

Grinding, machining, metal fabrication, or blade production
Lean, Six Sigma, SPC
Safety-critical manufacturing experience
