Our client is seeking a highly qualified Director of Banquets for their high-end boutique property in Omaha, NE. This unique opening offers endless opportunities for growth in a collaborative and rewarding work environment. The ideal candidate has recent and significant experience as a Banquet Department leader at an upscale branded hotel and a passion for leading teams while effectively demonstrating high integrity at all times.

Director of Banquets Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all banquet team activities including setting big-picture and incremental goals
  • Develop marketing, sales, and promotional strategies to grow the business and overall profitability including sales of meeting rooms and private dining events
  • Work with the culinary team to provide exceptional cuisine in a proficient and memorable manner while consistently meeting or exceeding financial goals
  • Manage the division in order to attract, retain and motivate employees including hiring, training, developing, and correcting
  • Manage the maintenance/sanitation of the food and beverage areas and equipment in the hotel to protect the asset, comply with regulations and ensure quality service
  • Manage the division's annual budget, forecasts, and objectives to meet/exceed management expectations

Director of Banquets Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of recent Director of Banquets experience at a full-service hotel, required
  • Management experience in a Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt property, preferred
  • Must have some culinary training and/or experience in a fine dining establishment
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate a large and diverse team including management-level direct reports
  • Ability and desire to work a flexible schedule, as the business requires
