Superintendent – Public Works Requirements & Qualifications

Experience working as a superintendent for a contractor
15+ years’ experience overseeing underground construction projects such as sewer, storm, water pipelines, and pump stations

Superintendent – Public Works Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Serve as the on-site representative, coordinating professionally with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
Lead and coordinate daily construction activities to deliver quality work safely, on schedule, and within budget
Collaborate with project management, safety, purchasing, payroll, and other support teams to ensure effective project execution
Plan, assign, and oversee work activities to ensure proper preparation, sequencing, and use of resources for all project phases
Inspect work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and company standards, driving excellence in every detail
Enforce company safety policies and all OSHA/regulatory requirements; promote safe work practices and jobsite hazard awareness
Supervise and mentor Foremen and crews; participate in onboarding, training, performance management, and problem resolution
