Director of Operations – New York, NY

An acclaimed, chef-driven restaurant group is launching an ambitious flagship hospitality destination in a historic Manhattan location. This is an opportunity to lead the launch and ongoing success of a luxury restaurant, bar, and private event space, backed by a creative and respected culinary team. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping guest experiences, building dynamic teams, and making a lasting impact at a cornerstone property.

Director of Operations, Benefits & Compensation

Director of Operations Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in upscale or fine dining hospitality
  • Proven background in overseeing multi-unit, multi-concept, or large-format luxury operations
  • Expertise in high-end restaurant, bar, and private event management
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing management teams
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of P&L, labor, and cost controls
  • Experience opening new concepts or managing large-scale openings strongly preferred
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Director of Operations Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily operations across the restaurant, bar, and private event spaces
  • Oversee opening strategy, hiring, and implementation of service and operational systems
  • Collaborate closely with ownership, culinary leadership, and executive teams to maintain brand standards
  • Build, mentor, and manage senior leadership across front of house, back of house, beverage, and events
  • Set and enforce exceptional service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
  • Own financial performance, including P&L oversight, labor management, cost controls, and forecasting
  • Develop SOPs, training programs, and enforce service protocols
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with events teams to drive private event strategy and execution
  • Champion a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence
