Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance activities within a high-volume Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) production facility. This role ensures optimal performance, reliability, and safety of production equipment, utilities, and facilities while minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of skilled technicians and work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for high-speed production and packaging equipment
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability across automated and semi-automated machinery
  • Develop and manage PM schedules to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life
  • Analyze downtime data and root causes; implement corrective actions and reliability improvements

People Leadership

  • Manage, train, and develop maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics
  • Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and safety standards
  • Schedule labor effectively to support production demands, including off-shifts and emergency repairs
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety (GMP), and company safety standards
  • Lead lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and safety training initiatives
  • Support audits and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, parts, and capital spend
  • Control spare parts inventory and establish critical spares strategy
  • Manage external contractors, OEMs, and service providers

Continuous Improvement & Projects

  • Partner with Operations and Engineering on equipment upgrades, line improvements, and capital projects
  • Support lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a CPG, food & beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of automated production equipment and packaging lines
  • Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field
  • Experience in food manufacturing environments with GMP and sanitation requirements
  • Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma exposure
  • Capital project and equipment installation experience
  • BI-LINGUAL in Spanish
