A respected and growing craft brewery in the Carolinas
is hiring a Director of Brewing Operations to lead production, quality, and team development. This role is for an experienced brewer who is equally comfortable running a brew deck as they are building systems that support growth.
Relocation package is available.

Position Overview
This role oversees all brewing and cellar operations, with direct responsibility for beer quality, process consistency, and production readiness. The Director of Brewing Operations works hands-on alongside the brewing team while also establishing documentation, training, and controls that support reliable output.
This is not a remote or purely administrative position. The job requires a consistent on-site presence and active involvement in daily production.

Core Responsibilities:
- Direct all brewing, fermentation, and cellar activities
- Ensure consistency and adherence to defined beer styles
- Maintain and improve QA/QC programs and sanitation practices
- Review and approve recipes, raw materials, and process updates
- Build and maintain scalable brewing and cellar processes
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, and throughput
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
- Lead, train, and develop a team of brewers and cellar staff
- Establish clear expectations for performance, cleanliness, and professionalism
- Create documentation and training tools that reduce single-point knowledge risk
- Coordinate production schedules with broader business needs
- Collaborate with operations and leadership on capacity planning
- Communicate constraints, risks, and timelines clearly and proactively
Experience & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional brewing experience
- Demonstrated success leading brewing teams
- Strong technical foundation in brewing science and cellar operations
- Experience operating or improving production systems at scale
- Experience in growth-stage or multi-site breweries
- Formal brewing education or industry certifications
- Familiarity with packaging operations
