Speech Language Pathologist Requirements & Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited institution
Seeking completion of a clinical fellowship and ability to obtain SLP licensure upon employment
Ability to independently organize, manage, and prioritize a clinical caseload
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Computer proficiency with Outlook, MS Office, Google Docs, and database management
Ability to lift and move children up to 40 pounds via stairs
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Experience or interest in early intervention (birth to 3 years)
Comfortable providing services in home and community settings

Speech Language Pathologist Responsibilities

Deliver speech therapy services in home and community environments to infants and toddlers
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support holistic care
Assess clients using a variety of tools and advise on environmental adaptations
Provide direct therapy (individual or group), consultation, monitoring, and written program plans
Maintain client confidentiality and complete documentation according to organizational and state protocols
