Director of Finance – Denver, CO (hybrid role)

Director of Finance Requirements & Qualifications

5+ years of investment banking, private equity, FP&A, or similar high-performing financial environment experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
Demonstrated financial acumen with a forward-thinking, strategic mindset
Experience at a smaller, start-up, or high-growth company supporting scale and process improvement
Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools
Proficiency with cash flow forecasting, AR/AP management, and risk identification
Proven ability to translate complex financial insights into strategic business decisions

Director of Finance Preferred Background & Skills

Experience in construction, manufacturing, or other project-driven industries
Hands-on knowledge of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, bonding, and banking
Experience with Sage or similar ERP/accounting systems
Automation and system improvement mindset
Strong communication skills with an ability to make financials actionable for non-accountants
Previous success in a lean, hands-on environment

Director of Finance Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Build and lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, and reporting frameworks
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial models
Design clear dashboards and reporting to empower leadership with actionable data
Own working capital, cash flow management, risk analysis, and system automation
Oversee financial close processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure GAAP compliance
Partner with project teams to align financial processes and support field operations
Guide capital allocation, growth investments, and major financial decisions
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team
